Churches description & History
Wonderful church dedicated to the patron Saint S. Luca Evangelista. It It was built in the 1588, upon a preexisting church of the 1123, and rebuilt in the 1772, but it does not show any baroque decor but it has a sober and simple style. The facade, of an immaculate white, integrates harmoniously in the Mediterranean environment. Remarkable are the majolica pavement, belonging to the end of 18th century, and some polychrome marble altars.
In Praiano' s town centre there is the church consecrated to St. Gennaro the Neapolitan bishop of Benevento, who was made Martyr of Pozzuoli on the 19th of September 305.
This church was built in 1589 on an existing structure dating back to 1200. The structure is flanked by a bell tower with a cupola covered in majolica tiles. The structure is divided in three naves, in the right one there are many altars dedicated to the Rosary, the Sacred Family, St. Bartolomeo and the Immaculate Conception (with a Gian Battista Lama Paint dated 1747).
Ceremony specials
Only Catholic weddings. The ceremony is performed by an English-speaking priest. Our florist can decorate the church with wonderful scented flowers to your preference. Music recommended: organist.
